Streetfighter V2S - The Ultimate V2 Fighter Formula
Ducati has applied the Fight Formula to the lightest Panigale of all time to create the lightest ever Streetfighter: a naked as exciting on the road as it is high-performance on track. The formula is simple: an 890 cc engine, Panigale V2 chassis, 175 kg weight, a high, wide handlebar and no fairings to act as a filter between the rider and the riding experience.
Panigale soul. Streetfighter insolence.
The new V2S is the lightest Streetfighter ever created by Ducati (18kg lighter than the previous version) thanks to a chassis based on the monocoque frame and the new 90° V2 engine. A bike that is agile but also stable and precise at high speeds, as fast as the previous model on track, but decidedly more entertaining on the road and during everyday use.
More intuitive to ride, lively and entertaining thanks to the lightness and torque of the V2 and offering the rider exceptional feeling right from first contact, the new Streetfighter is faithful like never before to the original "provocative spirit"
Unmistakably Streetfighter
The design of the new Streetfighter V2 retains the typical Streetfighter family style traits, doing away with the fairings to highlight the mechanical base of the supersport from which it derives. Mass is therefore concentrated at the front, for a bold, dynamic look that highlights the compactness of the new V2 engine.
Sharp and dynamic, the front “gaze” is immediately recognisable, shaped by the full LED light cluster and DRL.
Tank and Seat and Tail section
The tank, fully faired seat/tail section and light alloy wheels are the same as those on the Panigale V2. A choice that highlights the sports spirit of the Streetfighter V2, while retaining its references to the Ducati racing tradition.
Sophisticated chassis
The frame of the new Streetfighter V2 is an efficient and lightweight monocoque that exploits the engine as a load-bearing element. The double-sided swingarm takes design inspiration from the Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the Panigale V4 and offers the same benefits in terms of corner exit stability and feeling when riding on track, allowing the rider to make full use of today’s slick tyres.
The suspension is fully adjustable, to allow the rider to customise the setup of the new Ducati sports bike. The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a Marzocchi fork and Kayaba shock, while the V2 S versions offer the rider an Öhlins fork and shock, as well as a lithium-ion battery that reduces weight.
To maintain stability through the turns and at high speed without fairings, the Streetfighter V2 mounts a swingarm that is 30 mm longer than that of the Panigale V2 and the standard Sachs steering damper.
The new cast wheels mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, in sizes 120/70 and 190/55, which combine handling and footprint, highlighting the sports attitude of the two models. The Brembo front braking system comprises two 320 mm discs and M50 monobloc callipers, ensuring power on track and modulation on the road.
Benchmark electronics
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with the six-axis IMU inertial platform, which supports a comprehensive and efficient electronics package to heighten both safety on the road and performance on track. The electronics package includes sports Cornering ABS with slide-by-brake function, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, the same system used on the Panigale V4, as standard on both versions. The S versions are also equipped with Ducati Power Launch and Pit Limiter as standard.
The rider can instantly modify bike behaviour by switching between the 4 Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road and Wet). These offer pre-configured levels of intervention for all the controls and engine response, levels that can be modified by the user. In this way, with the simple pressing of a button, the Streetfighter V2 can be adapted to suit the rider and the various riding situations.
The dashboard is a new 5” TFT with user interface based on Infomode, conceptually derived from that of the new Panigale V4. The three views - Road, Road Pro and Track – are designed to allow the rider to focus on riding, highlighting the most relevant information in each context with a logical and comprehensive display.
The rider interface has been rationalised, integrating the information as far as possible to reduce the density and improve readability. The rev counter, for example, also serves as the gear shift indicator, turning green when it is appropriate to upshift and red when overspeed is reached.
